Alberta Mens Ice Breaker Results

Ardrosson, Alberta – 11 Men’s Roller Hockey Teams from all over Alberta took over the rink surfaces of Strathcona County the last weekend in April. There were teams in both the Rec and Elite divisions vying for the Gold medal. “I was not expecting such a positive response to this tournament from across the Province. This can only mean positive things for the future on Roller hockey. Kyle Mingo did an fantastic job pulling together this event” Said Cole Walker Vice President of Alberta Minor Roller Hockey

With new teams from Grande Prairie and Lethbridge it was anybody’s tournament. The Wheelhouse for Grande Prairie came out strong and dominated play on all three days. Ted Zylstra President of Alberta Minor Roller Hockey commented, “ It is fantastic to see new teams come into the sport and be this competitive! It is exciting to see the sport grow in such a positive way. And a huge shout out to the dozen’s of volunteers who came together to support both the tournament and the Youth Development Camp”

Team Canada members were out to sign autographs and run a U 12/14 camp for roller hockey youth looking to improve their hockey skills,

The tournament wrapped up Sunday, May 1st – results were:

Canadians - 1st in Elite

Solar Bears - 2nd in Elite

Red Sox - 1st in Recreational

Grande Prairie Ballers- 2nd in Recreational
