Edmonton Wins Gold at Alberta Summer Games

For the first time in the history of the Alberta Summer Games - Inline Hockey, Edmonton (Zone 6) skated away from the final with a gold medal. They accomplished this by defeating their three opponents in the round robin play, while only allowing one goal to be scored. This took them to the semi-finals against Black Gold - Zone 5 (Sherwood Park, St.Albert, Beaumont, etc.), the second place team in the other pool. After defeating Black Gold by a score of 16-0 they advanced to the final against Parkland County - Zone 4 (Red Deer, Lacombe, Sylvain Lake, etc.) This proved to be the stiffest competition they had faced so far in the tournament. With a 5-0 lead at the half they cruised to a 6-2 win and brought home Gold. Edmonton absolutly dominated the other zones in this tournament finishing with a perfect 5-0 record and 52 GF and 3 GA
