Red Deer plays great host to action packed Provincials

When it was all said and done, and the champions had been crowned, AMRHA could look back on yet another successful running of the annual roller hockey provincial’s tournament.
A variety of skillsets and age groups were on display this past weekend. It was amazing to see the adult/junior division fly around out there for an hour, displaying the best Alberta roller hockey has to offer. But then, what was really amazing is the young guns, the U8 division, came out and while they offered a slower, easier game to follow up and down the floor, they knew how to play the team game of roller hockey as well. So entertainment was available to supporters and fans of every team and player who competed in the provincial tournament.
The games, barring the occasional lopsided affair, were all pretty close and nail-biting worthy, too. Multiple ties in the Junior division lead to some headaches for the tournament organizers. Which set up a very entertaining, or should I say suspenseful day for teams, players, and especially parents on showdown Sunday. Several gold and bronze finals went down to the wire, and made for a stressful last few seconds for antsy hardcore parent fans.
A big thank you from AMRHA goes to every team for coming out and showing your stuff. Congratulations to the teams who brought home some hardware, as listed below:
