Combined National & Provincial Team Tryouts for 2019

March 15, 2019

For the first time ever, it will be even easier to tryout for the honor of representing your Province or Country. Starting in Alberta on Friday, April 26 and moving across the country towards Ontario on May 4th, Canada Inline will be conducting dual tryouts for provincial and national teams. The players familiar with State Wars won’t see much of a difference. There’s two hours of tryouts in their State Wars jerseys, then teams are selected from all available players. The families will then have meetings to discuss the next steps and be introduced to their coaching staff and managers. Canada Inline will participate in the provincial meetings and explain their role and how the National Team players will be selected. They will begin their journey again across the country with stops in BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

After the long haul across the country, Canada Inline’s National team committee will then sit down and begin the process to select the players to represent our various National teams. That will take place over a two-week period with the short lists being rolled out and then finalizing the teams for formal release of a final roster by the end of May. The big change this season for players familiar with the national team program will be the addition of the provincial program. Players will first be selected to their provincial teams who will compete at State Wars.  Then the best of the Provincial best will be selected to represent the country in their specific age groups.  AMHRA President Ted Zylstra commented “This allows our plays to just focus on the game, and they don’t have to choose between the Provincial and National Programs.  It is always our goal to represent the best our sport has to offer.”
